Kitty is just the best!
Kim Keever creates large-scale photographs that look like landscape paintings. The effect is created by constructing miniature topographies in a 200-gallon tank. Keever then fills the tank with water. Using colored lights and the dispersal of various pigments, Keever produces these temporary and ephemeral landscapes that he then quickly captures with his large-format camera.
I saw this at a local gallery last year. So beautiful.
“I was wearing an old Salvation Army shop boy’s suit. As I went to the bathroom I heard people saying, ‘Hey, faggot’. They slammed my head into a locker. I fell to the ground and they started to kick the shit out of me. I had to have stitches. The school kicked me out, not the bullies.
“Years later, I went to a coffee shop and I ran into one of the girls who’d kicked me, and she said, ‘Winona, Winona, can I have your autograph?’ And I said, ‘Do you remember me? Remember in seventh grade you beat up that kid?’ And she said, ‘Kind of’. And I said, ‘That was me. Go fuck yourself.’”

Well well, it looks like Mr. Koolhaas has a not-so-secret Star Wars fetish.
Glad I’m not the only architect in the world who ever dreamt of designing a building shaped like the Death Star. Difference is, I wouldn’t actually build that. He definitely would.
P.S. To my followers that don’t fancy my musings about architecture on their dash: I’ll use the tag “Apocalisse blogs about architecture”, so feel free to add that to your Tumblr Saviour
